New CUBO Board line-up from August 2019
01 August 2019
As of 1 August 2019, Gillian Almond, Director of Commercial Services at Royal Holloway, University of London, steps into the role of CUBO Chair, succeeding Stewart Ross (University of Leeds).
The role of Chair Elect now goes to Jo Hardman, Head of Commercial Services for Lancaster University, who will take over as Chair in August 2020.
Speaking at the CUBO Summer Conference in Swansea in early July, Gillian Almond paid tribute to Stewart Ross, whose period of leadership was evidenced by his energy and passion for driving best practice and member value:
“Stewart has led an exciting period of positive change and momentum here at CUBO,” she said. “On behalf of all members I’d like to thank him for his commitment and dedication over the past few years. He has made an immense contribution to our association and sector.
“Looking to the future, I am honoured to be picking up the mantle. Never have campus and commercial services been so vital in delivering excellent service and maintaining forward revenue streams, as we face potential changes in student demographics and funding.
“CUBO has a growing role to play across the sector in supporting and sharing best practice, helping members to innovate and pioneer new commercial and campus services – services that together with the support of professional partners have helped make our universities among the best in the world”.
