CUBO membership doubles
07 July 2020
In April CUBO began offering free membership to all non-member universities to support the higher education sector at a critical time. The number of new joiners has increased month by month and has now reached 600 members in total, doubling membership in four months.
This increase has allowed a much larger group of members to pool their knowledge and share resources in response to the Covid-19 crisis. "At times like this, widening the support network for all and having the fullest picture of what is happening in the sector is most important," says Gillian Almond, CUBO Chair and Director of Commercial Services at Royal Holloway, University of London.
New CUBO member Joana Da Silva, Harper Adams University said: “Over the last couple of months I have seen a real value in being able to tap into this great network.”
The immediate benefits for new members are: access to a network of peers sharing their response to the pandemic via online discussion forums; information and resources from CUBO; and weekly virtual round tables helping members to deal with the challenges presented by Covid-19.
The individual membership is open to campus and commercial services professionals from UK and Irish universities, working in areas such as student accommodation, catering, hospitality, residence life, facilities management, sport, retail, security, conferencing and summer business.
Membership remains free until 31 July.
