A student from Keele University won the CUBO-sponsored Enterprise category at the Green Gown Awards, celebrated at the National Railway Museum in York on November 8th.

CUBO Chair Stewart Ross presented the Enterprise Award to Keele University's Elliott Lancaster for his student project 'Utter Rubbish'.

The Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world.

20-year-old Elliott, who is studying accounting and finance, has developed an innovative way to stop people dumping rubbish in North Staffordshire. He has launched a website and app business called Utter Rubbish to provide residents with information about collection dates, recycling and other council services.
