CUBO Appoints Susanna Broom as Executive Director and Welcomes Sue Pimblett as Chair

CUBO is delighted to announce the appointment of Susanna Broom as its new Executive Director.

Susanna joined the organisation on 7 September 2026, bringing with her more than 20 years' experience in professional services roles across further and higher education.

Joining CUBO from the University of Sussex, where she was Head of the Researcher School, Susanna has provided both strategic and operational leadership across a range of student-focused services. Through these roles, she has developed a strong understanding of the student experience, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing institutions across the sector.

Alongside her higher education experience, Susanna brings valuable insight into member-led organisations and professional networks. She currently serves as an elected Executive Committee Member and Trustee of the UK Council for Graduate Education (UKCGE).

CUBO is also pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Pimblett as Chair of the CUBO Executive Board.

Sue is Head of Marketing, Sales and Communications at the University of Leeds and has been actively involved with CUBO for almost a decade. She established the CUBO Marketing Group and has served on the CUBO Executive Board since 2019. During that time, she has led the organisation's research portfolio, played a key role in shaping CUBO's strategic direction and chaired the CUBO Awards.

Sue Pimblett, Chair of the CUBO Executive Board, said:

"I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chair of CUBO at such an important time for our sector. As universities navigate significant change, CUBO's role in championing campus experience, commercial services and the professionals behind them has never been more important.

I am also delighted to welcome Susanna as our new Executive Director. This is an exciting moment for CUBO, and I look forward to working together to strengthen our collective voice, support our members and build on the organisation's strong foundations."

In her first few months with CUBO, Susanna will be meeting members, partners and stakeholders from across the community to learn more about their experiences, priorities and ambitions for the future. Members will also have the opportunity to meet Susanna at the CUBO Winter Conference, taking place at the University of Nottingham in November.
