We support careers in commercial and campus services through a Learning and Development programme that includes mentoring and events, delivered digitally and/or in-person.

The CUBO Learning & Development programme is part of a 2022-25 strategy through which we will:

  • Develop a systematic and sustainable approach to learning and development that allows people to access a range of quality learning opportunities;
  • Inspire and motivate members to engage and enhance their level of performance to achieve higher;
  • Encourage senior and experienced members to ‘give back’ to the membership by supporting the professional development and resilience of the next generation;
  • Provide Learning and Development opportunities throughout a member’s career;
  • Work in conjunction with the CUBO EDI Strategy to build a skilled, engaged and diverse campus and commercial workforce, investing in staff development and strengthening our members’ capacity to deliver excellence in campus life, campus services and the student experience.



Our Mentoring Scheme supports members in developing skills and competences to grow and advance their careers, by matching mentees with a suitable mentor to support, challenge and help them to achieve their goals and objectives.

The overarching aims of the CUBO Mentoring Scheme are to improve leadership capability, share best practice and support the career development of professionals working in HE commercial and campus services.

Professional Development

We provide opportunities for members to update their knowledge and skills through formal and informal learning events, from residential courses for aspiring directors to free online round tables on hot topics for different campus services.
