Sarah Clayton, CUBO Events and Engagement Manager
CUBO is inviting applications for the position of EDI Lead on the CUBO Executive Committee.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Carol Thomas, who has stepped down from the CUBO Executive Committee after three years of dedicated service. Carol has played a pivotal role in the development of CUBO’s Belonging Strategy and has been a key link between CUBO & the Living Black at University Commission.
This voluntary role is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of your professional association, gain experience of company directorship and develop your professional network.
As a member of the CUBO Executive, you will contribute to setting strategic direction and work alongside a dedicated staff team to add membership value and champion the role of campus and commercial services in university and college life. In addition, you will take the lead on our EDI portfolio.
This is a non-executive position that is rewarding and has great impact for the association and its members. The Board meets formally four times per year (twice online and twice in person), with additional short catch ups as required, communicating electronically. This role requires approx. 6-8 hours per month.
Board Member, EDI Portfolio
In this role, you will shape and champion the strategic direction of CUBO’s EDI portfolio, helping to drive inclusive practice, influence sector-wide conversations, and enhance the experience for members across the network. As an EDI Lead Board Member, you will gain valuable Board-level experience, broaden your professional network, and play a key role in strengthening CUBO’s reputation as a leading and progressive voice within the sector.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from directors or heads of service who are passionate about sector development and have the support of their line manager to take on a leadership role of this nature.
Our Commitment to EDI
Achieving equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of CUBO’s mission. We are committed to creating a leadership team that reflects the diversity of our membership and wider society. We value and welcome people for who they are, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
