CUBO has appointed Melissa Browne, deputy director of commercial services and estates at University of Kent, as Chair Elect, a position she will hold until July 2025 when she progresses to become Chair.
Her appointment is part of changes to the CUBO leadership progression path to ensure greater continuity in the executive team to see through the organisation’s strategic vision.
As CUBO learning & development lead, Melissa has been keen to create a L&D framework that supports the goals and ambitions of CUBO members. She has worked with current and new members to create impactful training and mentoring opportunities for leaders and their teams.
Melissa has worked in the student accommodation sector since 2009 and been a member of various senior leadership teams, gaining extensive experience in managing both in-house and third-party contract staff, with direct strategic and operational management responsibilities.
A trained life coach, Melissa has focused her career on the importance of investing and developing people to create effective, diverse and happy working environments which will allow teams to thrive and achieve organisation goals and objectives.
